I am very impressed with Apple’s Time Capsule. Last Saturday, I had a hard drive fail in my Mac Mini. I had it backing up to my Time Capsule. I got a new drive yesterday and used the Time Capsule image to restore everything to the drive. I could not be happier with the results. The Mac Mini is now back up and running exactly as it was 1 hour before the hard drive failed. All I have to say is awesome.

Last night Crissy and I wathed
- Hoodwinked
. It was pretty good. I think they did a good job of interweaving all of the stories together. I recommend watching it.
I’ve been pretty busy and haven’t updated my blog very often. I just noticed that I hadn’t updated it since March and wanted to get something in before May.
Anyways, yesterday we got Crissy’s new car. It’s a red Mazda6 5-door. It’s very nice and has a lot of options. It’s kind of nice to have a new car, but now we have to sell off the old car.
I spent one week off at wireless training during April. It was a pretty good class. There were a couple of areas that could have been expanded, but overall it was pretty good. I now know a lot about the Meru wireless controllers and APs.
While I was traning in Chicago, I picked my birthday present. It’s a mac-mini. I couldn’t wait and since Crissy was working nights last week, I ended up setting it up. I’m using it as a media center, hooked up to my 51″ Sony television. It took a little bit of fiddling, but I have it working pretty good now. The biggest problem was that the only display setting that looked good was 1920×1080 (interlaced). That left the menu bar very small. It’s actually not that easy to get the menu bar size changed on a mac, but I did find a way.
Today I got a baseball glove. Crissy and I were out and I have wanted to get one for quite a while. It’s kind of strange since I haven’t had a baseball glove in a long time.
Well, I’m heading into work now. Yes the time is right on the post. We’re installing another set of new dist boxes today at work. This should be interesting. The conversion Sunday did not work as well as we would have hoped (I actually was in Chicago, so I didn’t help out). I did get called in on Sunday night to try and fix a problem. It ended up taking 2 hours. I cannot wait to get rid of the on-call pager tomorrow.
On a better note, Crissy and I went to Chicago for a St. Patrick’s day party on Saturday. It was a lot of fun. We played a game called “Guitar Hero.” The game rocks. and rolls. Anyways, it was so much fun, that I ended up buying a copy of the game Saturday. We are starting to find a lot of cool features in it that go beyond the freestyle play. It looks like it might be a lot of fun to have 2 of the guitar controllers.
I’ll try to type more when I have more time. I really do have to leave in this crap to get to work.
Yesterday I ordered a board game called Settlers of Catan. I’m getting the main board, Seafarers expansion, and Cities and Knights, plus all the expansions to make them 6 player. It should be here Thursday. Now, I just need to figure out how to label all the pieces without giving away the probability of what the piece is. This is only important for when you are playing an exploration map, but still those maps are fun. I’m thinking about printing out a spreadsheet of each game set (made while I’m popping the pieces out for each game and expansion). Anybody else have any good ideas?
I can’t believe its this Sunday. It makes me happy that Insight decided to get their act together and get the HD channel set up. I now have ABC in HD. I really like watching sports in HD.
