I will not be uploading any pictures for the next 3 or 4 days. I’ll be taking photos and should have them up as soon as I can.

I’ve started a secondary blog. The secondary blog is a photo-blog. I am trying to update it daily. It is going to be slightly difficult or me, as I am using it to force me to use my camera as well. So if you find this type of thing interesting, you can follow it at http://www.jedirogue.com/photoblog/ . And maybe, I’ll be able to use it to help me post more often on here.
I am very impressed with Apple’s Time Capsule. Last Saturday, I had a hard drive fail in my Mac Mini. I had it backing up to my Time Capsule. I got a new drive yesterday and used the Time Capsule image to restore everything to the drive. I could not be happier with the results. The Mac Mini is now back up and running exactly as it was 1 hour before the hard drive failed. All I have to say is awesome.
Davis finally has a driver to run my Vantage Pro2 on my Intel Mac Mini. For those of you interested, you can now see the weather at my house. I have it up on weather underground here: http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=KILSAVOY2.
Well, its done. I get all of my HD and digital channels on my Tivo now. It was rather painless. Insight came to install the cards around 11 this morning. It took maybe 10-15 minutes to get both cards working. The biggest problem turned out to be that the technician forgot his car key at my house. He had not seen the Series 3 yet and was surprised when it took two cablecards. All in all, I have not had any of the problems that most people have been posting about on the web forums. I ordered my Tivo around 8 Monday night and its completely up and running around 12 today. And that is including 2 days of shipping. The only other problem I had was that I had to call them to get my tracking number because they never sent it to my email address.
Yesterday, I came home early, so I wouldn’t miss getting the Tivo. While waiting for it to arrive, I started tearing apart the old entertainment system and getting it ready for the new equipment. Once it arrived, I plugged in the plugs and slid it into place. Now I’m waiting for the cable company to stop by and install the 2 CableCards that it needs to do all of the digital channels. After that’s done, I’ll update my blog to let everyone know my experiences with getting it hooked up.
So, this morning I called up Tivo. I got my tracking number and it should be here tomorrow. I called Insight, they were most helpful. They have to send out someone to install the CableCards. But they had lots of openings and the tech will stop by Friday morning. Also, they can pick up the old Insight DVR at that visit, so I don’t have to stop by the main office. So, everything is falling into place….
Last night I ordered my Series 3 Tivo. I don’t know when it will ship yet, but it should arrive 2 days after they ship it. So my question is this: Do I go ahead and try to get Insight to get me my cablecards and return my Insight DVR or do I wait until my Series 3 Tivo gets here? I’m hoping that I can drop off the Insight DVR and pick up the cablecards at the office and not have to have an installer come out to the house…
I can’t believe its this Sunday. It makes me happy that Insight decided to get their act together and get the HD channel set up. I now have ABC in HD. I really like watching sports in HD.
I started trying to use Google’s RSS/ATOM reader. It’s kind of neat. As a secondary note, I’m using this post to see how it reacts to new posts. You can use the google reader if you have a google account (if you don’t let me know) and go to http://www.google.com/reader/
