For the few who follow my humidifier updates. I am no longer using the old humidifier. I have installed a unit that hooks up to the furnace. It only works when the furnace is on, so I think it will take it a while to get caught up. But it does seem to be working.

For all of the humidifier enthusiasts out there, I cleaned out the humidifier and got it running last week. I got it running before it was extremely dry. I do have to add a lot of water to it.
I cleaned the humidifier. You wouldn’t believe the crust I had to scrape off the bottom of it. I didn’t take any photos of it, so I can’t post those.
I need to clean the stuff out of the humidifier. You’re supposed to clean it every week. I have shut it down until I get the time to clean it up.
I’ve found that it works better when you remember to put water in its reservior. It has a 1.75 gallon reservior and can go through 3 gallons in a day. That means I have to fill it up pretty often. I think once we get the humidity up for a while it will stop using so much water.
I wonder how long its going to take me to get tired of talking about my humidifier. I haven’t shocked the dogs since at least yesterday, and believe me that’s a long time. It sure is going through a lot of water. I guess it is actually working.
I’m still not sure the humidifier is doing anything, but it was almost out of water in its reservoir. I filled it back up.
Crissy and I bought a humidifier today. I’m not certain its doing anything… but it does make noise. Nows the time I wish I had something to measure the humidity in the air. Oh well, hopefully the air in the house will begin to feel less dry.
